What happened with the ghost incident?
Last year, Billie Eilish experienced what she called a “crazy ghosting” event. The term “ghosting” means someone suddenly cuts off contact with you without any explanation. Eilish said the experience was “crazy” and “really unbelievable.” She explained, “I was like, did you die? Did you really die?”

Eilish explained that she had known the man for years and that they had made plans to meet up. “We had a plan, talking on the phone, making plans, here’s my address, be there at 3 o’clock. Never heard from him again,” she said. Later, she found out he was dating someone else. “And I was like, ‘Ohhhh.’ But I didn’t know people still did that. I really didn’t know people did that,” she added.

Billie Eilish also discussed the challenges of maintaining friendships after becoming famous. “I suddenly became famous and I couldn’t connect with anybody. It was hard. It was really hard,” she said. While her best friend Zoe remained in her life, her other friends were mostly people she worked with.
Eilish shared a poignant moment from her 20th birthday. “It was my 20th birthday and I remember looking around the room and it was just my employees. And everybody was 15 years or older than me.” This feeling was deepened when one of her employees suddenly quit. “It was the worst thing that ever happened to me. And it made me realize, ‘Oh wait, this is a job.’ If they quit, they’ll never see me again.”

Billie Eilish’s social life has seen a positive change over the past year. She has distanced herself from her work acquaintances and rekindled old friendships. “Exactly a year ago, I reconnected with a bunch of my old friends and now, I have so many friends,” she said.

Eilish expressed her joy at having a close group of friends again. “I have a crew now! I can literally cry about it. It’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me.” She recalled a heartwarming moment at a party at Coachella where she cried with her friends. “I thought, ‘Guys, I have friends and I love you so much, and it’s been so long since I’ve had friends’ and I cried… and it was literally because I felt like I had friends again.”
