Srikanth Bolla Wife, Bio, Personal Life, Achievements And More

Srikanth Bolla is an influential Indian industrialist whose remarkable journey from being scorned and ignored to becoming an influential leader is a testament to the power of determination. Despite being born blind and rejected by academic institutions and society alike, he earned his degree from MIT and founded Bollant Industries as well as becoming involved in several social initiatives that exemplify his dedication to empowering marginalized groups while contributing to sustainable living practices – an amazing story that this article chronicles through his achievements and the lessons he taught.

The Early Years: Facing Challenges with Perseverance

Srikanth Bolla was born in 1991 in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh to a farmer family and faced immediate social rejection and initial opposition from society due to his disability. Relatives advised his parents not to keep him as a caretaker for their elderly relatives in their old age. But instead they decided to support and nurture their son. Unfortunately due to his disability classmates would regularly mock him at school because of his blindness – the last straw.

Srikanth’s strong commitment fuelled his academic ambitions. When his disability prevented him from studying science in high school, he filed a case challenging this – he was finally allowed to continue his studies after a six-month wait and scored 98% in the final exam! He excelled and earned top honours.

Breaking barriers: Academic achievement and beyond

Although he achieved very good academic success, Srikanth’s engineering studies were met with questionable acceptance. Coaching institutes refused to accept him due to his blindness, making it impossible to prepare for the competitive entrance exams of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). However, rather than give up, Srikanth turned to studying internationally – eventually enrolling at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Massachusetts, US, where he became the first blind international student – and graduated as its first blind international student – moving on to his career journey in no time!

Building Bollant Industries: Srikant’s Entrepreneurial Vision

As opportunities in the US presented themselves, Srikanth decided to bring about an impactful change in his home country. He searched for innovative ideas with a positive social impact. Three years of searching followed and he founded Bollant Industries in 2012. Bollant’s specialty lies in producing eco-friendly betel nut-based products as well as providing employment to people with disabilities.

Srikant’s vision caught the attention of Ratan Tata, who eventually invested in Bollant Industries as part of his commitment to inclusive economic growth. Through his venture, Srikant provided employment to hundreds of differently-abled individuals, reaffirming his commitment to social and environmental sustainability.

Social Impact Initiatives: Uplifting Communities and Society

Srikanth has long shown an affinity towards various charitable causes. He co-founded the Samanvay Centre for Children with Multiple Disabilities in 2011, which runs a Braille printing press and provides holistic services ranging from education, vocational training and rehabilitation for children with multiple disabilities. Through these services, it strives to help these children realise economic independence and self-reliance.

Srikanth most recently took over as the Director of the Surge Impact Foundation. The organisation supports individuals and institutions working towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 – their focus is on leaving a positive lasting mark on society.

Personal Life: Building a Strong Foundation

In April 2022, Srikanth married his partner Swati. Recently, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl. Their happiness was shared publicly by actor Rajkummar Rao, who congratulated the new parents on Instagram. With his growing family, Srikanth remains steadfast in his dedication to leading Bolant Industries and advancing social change.

Lead India 2020 and the APJ Abdul Kalam connection

Srikanth has been a strong advocate of youth empowerment since 2005, working as a youth leader with Lead India 2020 – a national initiative launched by former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam to eradicate poverty, illiteracy and unemployment across India by 2020 – thus inspiring many young individuals. Srikanth’s involvement has enabled him to support thousands of young individuals as they unleash their full potential and achieve their goals.

Conclusion: Inspiring the next generation

Srikanth Bolla’s story of perseverance, resilience, and unwavering hope is an inspirational tale of triumph. From overcoming social rejection and educational barriers to becoming an acclaimed entrepreneur and social advocate, he serves as an example that obstacles can be turned into opportunities with vision, determination, and true dedication to the public good.

Srikanth has proven through his work at Bollant Industries, Samanvay, and the Surge Impact Foundation that business and philanthropy can coexist to benefit society. As he expands his work and raises his growing family, his legacy will be one of inclusivity, social impact, and sustainable progress.
